Although Charlie Chaplin's speech takes us back 76 years ago, it feels like he's sending a message to us all, millennials of the brainwashed society. Not that our generation is the only one that's been manipulated, but rather because now more than ever we are hanging on what could be our last thread- and if we don't react soon, it could truly be the end, folks.
The only hope that keeps me positive is knowing that millions of us want a change, yet the question is : will we be bold and smart enough to look past our individualist selves and act TOGETHER in unity or fall down the trap of vulnerability and powerlessness that is so easy to submit to?
It's simple : if you think love should overrule power, money, greed, hate and war, then start SHARING it more, regardless of how much you get back. If you're sick of seeing people disconnected, TALK to strangers more often, look at them in the eyes, smile to someone random. Basically, expand a love cycle as if you're the core and everyone -even remotely associated to you- needs to feel your positive energy. Give your time to others by erasing or radically decreasing the useless tasks polluting your life -hours on social media, week-ends consuming in shops, days of daydreaming what car/life/body you want- and enter the win-win situation where YOU benefit as well from a "TUDO BEM" way of life.
To quote Chaplin, "we are not machines", but a big majority of us is certainly acting like one. Let's re-learn the basics of living a peaceful and harmonious life, and if we're good enough, we might just be able to revolutionize our planet with something as simple as a smile. For if there are billions of us purveying this mode of living, our heart will scream louder than the nosiest speech an atrocious Donal Trump could ever give.
