Ziferblat

The original concept of paying your stay per minute while drinking unlimited tea and coffee can be experienced in Shoreditch, East London!! Read more to find out about this one-of-a-kind place to relax!

Ziferblat is a unique coffee place that can easily be missed if you haven’t got the eye. Nevertheless, this shouldn’t discourage you from going since part of its originality is exactly this: an authentic atmosphere that locals love to feel when being constantly surrounded by tourists. Situated on 388 Old Street in Shoreditch (you must ring the bell to go in), this unusual spot has been successful with a new concept brought from Russia. The idea is to pay your stay per minute while you can enjoy unlimited coffee, tea, biscuits and friendly vibes. Ziferblat, the “Clock face” in Russian, is a type of social experiment that encourages people to interact and share together in a warm and cosy atmosphere. The place is overflowed with eclectic and colourful decorations, which brings a bohemian style to the setting. There is even a "Secret Hide Away" room for people who want to enjoy a nap in their new ephemeral home.

Still don’t feel comfortable with the concept? Various events take place throughout the year -such as board game nights, art shows, workshops and much more- to encourage encounters among this city full of strangers. The volunteers are extremely friendly as well, which probably helps spreading this relaxed atmosphere everyone seems to be overwhelmed with.

Ziferblat is seriously the perfect place for all situations – whether you’re searching for a si

te to hang out with friends, need some space to work or want to meet new people.

If you’re not familiar with the spot, the staff will happily show you around and help you make your own coffee (No, it’s not that simple! Some machines are old style so no need to pretend you’re a pro at vintage coffee making – just ask!) Ziferblat is also practically always looking for volunteers that would benefit from free hours in this cocoon.

Concerning the price, the customers pay 5p/minute (3 £ per hour) and can obtain a loyalty card after 5 hours.

Check out their upcoming events on their website HERE or their Facebook page HERE andpost a comment if you’ve been or to tell me which coffee place is unique for you.
